Kalamitsi Amigdalou Apokoronou
Kalivaki has a small beach, a taverna, studio's for rent, and a large swimming pool. Kalivaki is a bay just outside the village Georgioupoli which is situated in the prefecture of Chania at the northcoast between the cities of Rethymnon and Chania on the island Crete (Greece) .
The studios have one room. Each studio has a kitchenette, a bathroom with toilet, shower and/or bath.
The downstairs studios have a terrace, the upstairs studios a balcony and airconditioning. There are 24 studios in 5 buildings. All windows and balcony doors are fitted with mosquito shields.
The studios are cleaned 6 times per week. Bedlinen and towels are changed 2 times per week.The studios are simple and clean.
There is a large swimming pool available to the guests (although the owner does not mind when others use it too). There is a separate part in the swimming pool for children.
At Porto Kalivaki one can see that Mr. Karkanis loves flowers. He is very keen on his plants, and keeps working on them. This makes that Kalivaki is very nice and friendly looking.
On these pictures it can be seen that Porto Kalivaki is situated outside the village of Georgioupolis. It's a 5 minute walk to the village when you walk the along beach and harbour, and about 10 minutes when you take the roads.
Kalivaki is on the end of a cul du sac, which means the only traffic there is, is local traffic on it's way to Kalivaki.
The taverna is run by Dimitri. He is a friendly man and runs a very fine taverna. His taverna is wellknown among the Greek people from the island. Especially on sundays there are always a lot of families that have dinner in the afternoon, and spend some hours on the beach and in the swimming pool.
Yvonna and Daria are the cooks. They cooks lovely dishes. Simple Greek ones, but also, on special order, a great lobster.
The taverna is open from the end of April until mid October. Generally from 09.00 in the morning until about 22.00 in the evening. Food, ice cream, and drinks are available during that time.
Kalivaki, has no internet connection. Therefore it is not possible to sent them an email directly. Emails you sent to the shown emailadress will not automatically reach Kalivaki.
The owner speaks only Greek. From the beginning of May until the end of October there are people available that do speak English.
Also, there are travel agengies that deal with Kalivaki. They can be found using Google or any other search engine.
